Who are you? What’s your mission? How would you describe your position?
My name is Zoe Bier, I have been the Communications Manager of Polytech Services Nancy since June 2019. My mission is to implement the communication strategy of the structure to be adopted during the year of my mandate and the following mandates. I work in collaboration with my internal communications manager and external communications officer, I am also in charge of the IT manager who is also part of the communications division. I have to pilot the pole in order to put in place a communication plan for the year.
My position is a key position in the Junior. It is, in fact, a bridge between what happens internally in the structure and with the outside, students, school and professionals. It allows je members to express themselves through the communications division. My position is the guarantor of the image coherence of Polytech Services Nancy.
What are the tasks you’re doing?
Every week, I hold a pole meeting where we discuss what has been done and our new ideas for communication. I am, in a way, the organizer of the pole and I am the one who accompanies them in their communication approaches to students and professionals. I help them develop digital content such as posters, articles or videos, but also manage social networks (Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn) as well as the website.
For example, I work on our communication media so that they can be reused by the communications officers to ensure compliance with the graphic charter. I make sure that our publications are always consistent with the image of our structure. I supervise the writing of the articles on the website and I also intervene every month for the survey of indicators.
As a member of the board, I meet the treasurer, the project manager, the secretary, the vice-president and the president. Together, we reflect on issues related to structure, business strategy or recruitment.
What does your involvement in the JE bring you (human and professional relationship, experience)?
Being part of the Junior Enterprise is a source of new development and professional enrichment. I have to manage a team, manage communication. These are new skills that I am pleased to have today. The Junior-Enterprise allows to have responsibilities and to take a first step in the professional world. These are skills you can’t learn in school!
To be a Junior-Entrepreneur is to be part of the first student network in France, with people from all walks of life. The Junior-Enterprise movement allows us to develop our network, thanks in particular to the various partners of the CNJE but also between Junior-Entrepreneurs. You can participate in many conferences, regional and national, and meet motivated students with the same entrepreneurial mindset.
It is a rewarding experience as a student, which allows us to “grow” professionally.
